  1. If I do not have a good attacking lead, no singleton,
  2. and partner has not bid, I make a positive lead in
  3. trumps when I have 2 or 3 trumps with no honors.  I
  4. like to have a side ace to make this play.

  6. If my attempt to eliminate trumps in dummy proves to
  7. be fruitless, the lead of trumps in this situation
  8. is a good passive lead which will probably not cost
  9. my side any tricks.

  11. I do not make this lead if the opponents have bid
  12. slam.  There may be nothing better, but at least I
  13. will have tried not to hand them the lead.
